আমি শহরের একটুকরো বারান্দা থেকে বলছি।
যেখান থেকে এখনো মৃদু আলোতে
আকাশের ভেসে যাওয়া মেঘ দেখা যায়।
বড় বড় দালানের কোণঠাসা ঘরগুলোর দরজা বন্ধ।
কিন্তু জানালা গুলো মৃদু মন্দ বাতাসের
প্রতীক্ষায় এখনো খোলা।
এখনো আলো জ্বলে আছে বদ্ধ ঘরের কোণে।
জীবনের চলাচল আজও গতিপথ বদলাতে পারেনি।
ব্যস্ত শহর আজও পুরনো দিন খুঁজে যায়।
আমি আকাশ দেখে প্রতীক্ষা করি
কবে এ ছোট্ট বারান্দা ছেড়ে
নিচে নেমে যাবো সিঁড়ি বেয়ে?
শীতল শিশির ভেজা ঘাসের পড়ে
আমার স্নিগ্ধ সকাল হবে?
কবে আবারও শিমুল তলায় দাঁড়িয়ে
দোয়েলের শিস দেওয়া শুনব?
আবারও কবে ফিরবে বসন্ত
আমার কমলা শাড়ির লাল পাড়ে?
কৃষ্ণচূড়া আবার কবে আমায় করবে আলিঙ্গন?
আমার এ বদ্ধ দুয়ারে নিখিল জগৎ
পালটে গেল দুঃস্বপ্নের মতো।
ক্ষীণ এ জীবন আমাবস্যা দেখে
সূর্যের কিরণ হারিয়ে।
আমার জন্ম থেকে চেনা অতীত
ফিরবে কবে স্মৃতিতে ভর করে?

দোয়েলের একটানা শিস আমায় আশা দেয়।
চড়ুইদের ঝাঁক বেঁধে উড়ন্ত বেশে

কিছু সবুজ আজও আচ্ছাদন করে রাখে
